How could you turn down sleeping bat earrings? I mean, come on....
One of them even has his little bat ear tagged, hopefully by the bat sanctuary.

Gimme Teh Biiiiiirdssssss
May. 14th, 2011 10:02 amSo, I finally put 2+2 together and realized that the cat Fuzzy was strangely hanging out between my computer case and the window next to it because she could hear and/or smell the bird's nest being made in the wall.
Now Nyx has made a similar discovery and is attempting to terrorize the birds while sitting on the slim window sill behind the mini blinds. Her trying to jump from one side of the sill to the other almost resulted in mini blind failure, and of course the window blocked her from causing damage. I'm just worried that her presence in the sill will keep the parent birds away, so I've been shooing her away as much as possible.

I have baby birdies
May. 10th, 2011 01:02 pmSome tiny sparrows have managed to make a nest just behind a piece of siding that's under my bedroom window sill. All I hear every 5 minutes is tweet tweet tweet tweet tweet. At least they are more or less faint, so they are not an annoyance. They can just barely open their eyes, but for the most part keep them closed still.
The yellow in the pics are from the sides of their beaks, so seeing two yellow kind of lined up with black in between is the full beak, like in this pic.

I hadn't noticed, but now I miss them
May. 22nd, 2010 09:50 amThe CuteOverload syndicated LJ has been suspended.
LiveJournal was reproducing our content and we were seeing no advertising revenue from it. Unfortunately, advertising revenue is our lifeblood and without it, Cute Overload wouldn't exist.
Sorry, but our content is not coming back to LiveJournal.
"Not very satisfactory and seems they don't understand the idea of RSS feeds!"
I agree.

I agree.
After watching a cute video and reading up on the critters, I have a feeling that given their nature of being a preferred prey for many species, the capybara might actually be tasty.

Hey
flemco, you like trying new meats - you should go for this one some day.

Jan. 23rd, 2010 09:01 amThere are moving sidewalks and escalators. I think it would be neat if some place installed an angled moving sidewalk. Something that would go up like an escalator but be flat like a moving sidewalk. You could choose to ride on the right or walk on the left or trip and fall down without those pesky slatted, pokey, and quite dangerous steps getting in the way. I just know a lot of people would complaint that they don't stand straight on the "floor" of the thing and would somehow manage to gripe about ankle problems and such.
That's when you remind them that the optional non-moving stairwell is through those doors over there marked "stairs".
By the way, what should such a contraption be called?
EDIT: Is it just me, or the background wall/store front in this picture is kind of representative of a black and white cubist Domo?
EDIT2: Well, ok, so they used to exist and they were called Escalades, which I think is kind of nifty.

This is a re-posted comment I made in
siliconshaman's LJ.
I first saw this one about a year ago and decided it would be wonderful to do in our house, but unfortunately the time and money concepts keep getting in the way. (Note, at the bottom it links back to the house you just posted, which I thought was pretty cool - I hadn't seen the one you posted until this morning.)
Then, I saw this image.
Today, I did a quick search for "cat house" and not only found these indoor gems, but also some great outdoor ideas.
Nekobokuro 1
Nekobokuro 2
Misc pet housings
Cat Runs 1
Cat Runs 2
Any idea how best to go about anchoring shelves without brackets like they have both against the wall and surrounding various poles? I have to consider the weight and PSI of a cat jumping. Our heaviest cat is 11 pounds.

The Kittens
Nov. 28th, 2009 10:45 pmThe outdoor kittens are looking for new homes now that Oscar the dog has joined the family. If you or someone you know might be interested in a kitten or three give us a holler.

Two things - first is the email I sent to the members of the household
Second was the chat I had with Eileen
I think between the two they sum everything up nicely
( Email )
( Chat log )
So, the count now:
Humans 6
Indoor cats 6
Outdoor cats 10 (gained an additional black and white poofball during the past couple of weeks that came out of nowhere)
