When I picked up my mom's car for use while mine was in the shop this past weekend, Little Bit gave me a HUGE hug hello and told me how much he LOVED the movie we watched with the robot spiders. I think he's really happy I'm getting back into the swing of having Movie Night every week or so. He is the one that asks me if we can have a Movie Night almost every time I visit. Of course, he's also the one that asks me if he can play on the piano every time I visit as well.

While picking Mom up to get my car back, I was informed by Eldest that he has decided that for our next Movie Night we shall re-watch Dinotopia. Apparently he was craving the 4-hour, 2-part movie so much that Little Bit found it for him over the weekend when he couldn't remember the name of it, and he sat through the entire thing, even to the point that his best friend went home out of boredom. If memory serves, his best friend sat through the movie the first time I showed it to the boys for Movie Night about a year or so ago. I informed Eldest that, no, we will not re-watch Dinotopia again for the next Movie Night. Movie Night is for movies they haven't seen yet. They know this, but they still keep trying to get me to re-show something I've already shown them previously. It's easy enough to redirect them to something new.

I still keep thinking about working with the kids back at the camp. I was even remembering yesterday about how it would take me a couple months to readjust back to my bedroom after spending the summer tied to a bunk bed and living out of a couple of trunks. I had (still have, actually) a wire basket that slid over the slats of the upper bunk that held my journals and reading books as well as a clip-on fan, flashlight, Walkman, and various other sundries. Whenever I would come back home, the fan and basket would get reattached to the wall shelf just above my bed, and I would still prefer the flashlight and Walkman over my table lamp and stereo while reading myself to sleep. I can't recall how long it would take for me to finally empty the trunks again, but it was a while as well. I'd even keep putting my toothpaste and toothbrush back into the trunk instead of leaving them in the bathroom where they belong. It was as though I didn't want to believe that camp had ended.

There was something so amazingly simplistic about that lifestyle. The schedules were planned and relaxing. The goal was to have fun while entertaining and teaching the kids various activities. Considering how much I love teaching and entertaining, having fun while doing so was icing on the cake.

I'm spending a lot of time nowadays re-evaluating how my life has turned out in the past 5-6 years. I think this is a good thing, because a couple years ago I was so drowning in my own life I don't think I knew which way was up. Spending more time with my nephews seems to be helping me a lot. It isn't going to magically fix my world, but it's doing wonders for it so far.
