Boys

Friday was eldest munchkin's birthday, but since I wasn't able to make it for his birthday dinner due to class, he opted to wait until Saturday. He wanted Mongolian, and I was disappointed that the proprietor wasn't around. He always asks me where the boys are when I show up without them, and Little Bit calls him His Friend and always gives him a huge hug. The guy is really great with interacting with the patrons and especially the kids.

As we were driving home Little Bit wanted to have a Movie Night. I had purchased two art sets for them a few months ago. While I was pulling out the movie bag from my trunk I had eldest check the back seat for me. He asked what they were for, and I told him one was his birthday gift, and the other was for Little Bit so that they would each have their own set. I'll do the same come Little Bit's birthday and get double gifts then as well, although I haven't decided what I'm going to go with yet. I've learned that it always works out better for them that way, instead of one of them being jealous over the other. The "birthday boy" never complains when they each get gifts, but the "non-birthday boy" will always feel jealous if only the birthday boy is receiving something. I can't wait until they grow out of that. The boys got their art sets opened and were playing with them. A bit later Mom walks into the living room and asks, "Is Aunt Nikki putting all the colors in order?"

Um, no, no, not at all ... blue comes after purple ...

Yeah, my mom knows me too well.

After we got each set labeled, they jumped onto MineCraft and played that for the rest of the evening instead of having Movie Night, which was fine, because Mom and I still had a lot to talk about. We still went through all the movies I brought with me so I could find out which ones they have and haven't seen. I've been neglecting Movie Night for a while. Time to get them back into watching some more of the classics.

My mom and sister and her current boyfriend took the boys and two of their friends to Six Flags last Monday, so I got to hear them tell me all about it. Mom was telling me last weekend that I should take off from work and go with them. I might have considered it if, ya know, she had mentioned it to me sooner than the day before. :/ Still, they all had a good time and no real bickering between them, which is always a blessing.

I'm still wanting to drag them out to the Dallas World Aquarium. Maybe I'll do that when it's Little Bit's birthday. Secretly, I only want to take them because I want to go and see the marmosets again. I <3 the marmosets. Taking them out to fun places is really all about me. :D

I mean, seriously, HOW CUTE IS THAT!?! D'awwwww. Those poor marmosets probably think humans make high pitched squeal sounds all the time. At least, I always do when I see them.
