Day Off Redeux

I hope I'm not having déjà vu and actually get to take tomorrow off, unlike last Thursday.

I'm also taking my first week vacation in 3 years next week (as having surgery and my grandmother's passing two years ago don't count in my book as vacations). I'm hoping I can go 24, maybe even 48 hours without someone from work calling me about something. Yeah, right. I don't think I'm that lucky. I haven't been able to go an entire weekend in about 2 months without getting at least one call. Kevin can attest, even lunches at home will sometimes still cause my phone to ring. Not being able to wait a freaking hour for something is kind of ridiculous, considering I'm not dealing with massive computer servers or anything.

I consider tomorrow a trial run for next week and next week to be a trial run for the next 4 weeks that I have to schedule off some time between now and next March, as I just earned 3 more weeks to the two I already had hoarded in my back pocket. 5 year anniversary at that place - woohoo.

Well, here's to hopefully getting a couple things on my to-do list knocked off.

I may try that after the trial week. This is the first week I've taken off with this crew of staff, and even today I feel like I'm forgetting to cover for things I haven't foreseen yet.
