I went and saw Transformers 2 this evening.

I have no idea why, but it spawned a LONG ass nightmare based on the I Am Legend monsters. Me and a few other survivors are holed up in a house and fighting them off. They were closing in and we were quickly at our last reserves.

I hate nightmares like this. I awoke with my heart pounding so hard it took a good 5 minutes to calm down, although it felt like 15. I'm still a bit leery about going back to sleep.

How does a movie about robot cars and ending in a happy-feel-good manner (and don't tell me that's a spoiler - the movie is teenage+ friendly, of course it ends on a good note) going to cause nightmares about monsters from a different movie?

As an aside, I Am Legend is still one of the few movies that really does scare the living shit out of me. There's just something about how that damned movie was filmed and the emotions that it brought out in me of pure utter fear and terror that I almost never want to see it again in my life. Once was enough.

Holy crap, it *was* Apocalyptic Dream night, last evening

And yeah; I feel the same way about Event Horizon. It wasn't scary so much as freaking *disturbing*. I will never, ever, ever watch it again. And if someone is playing it in their house, I will likely leave.

Good to know. I own Event Horizon, and while I find it scary, it doesn't seem to give me the shivers down my spine anymore. I was also a bit twitchy after watching the first Final Destination - looking in every direction in anticipation of seeing a car trying to run me over as I was leaving the movie theater. Not anymore though. I Am Legend, though it was slow, has just stuck with me in a very real and strange way.

Oh man, the scene where Will Smith had to kill his dog was both nightmare-inducing and heart-breaking. :(
