Playing Personal Assistant
Dec. 17th, 2010 11:16 amMy co-worker D is going to his wife's graduation, um, right now. Of course, before he left he was asking me to help him get flowers for her. I tell him to go jump on his computer and order some. No, he wants to take them to her at the graduation, so I tell him to stop at a grocery store and give him the names of a couple that are on his route.
But she doesn't like flowers. *headdesk*
So I tell him don't get her flowers if you know she doesn't like them. Then what should he take; he's supposed to take something, right? I ask whether or not they already have after-grad party plans. Nope. Fine, then you will take her to sushi or fondue - but I already know she doesn't like sushi, so you will take her to fondue (and I already know she was upset that she didn't get to make it to my fondue party I threw a couple months ago). Will there be other people there? Yes, family. Then count how many, here's the fondue place phone number, and make a reservation. But I don't want to pay for everyone. Then I guess you'll have to tell them that, now won't you?

Baby Nephew
Dec. 17th, 2010 09:14 pmI has one. Again. And I held him, and he made cute noises, and then promptly threw up on me (actually more on himself) to remind me what baby puke smells like. And I changed his shirt and blankets because it had to have been a whole bottle's worth of formula. And then the other nephews showed up, and I had to oversee both of them holding the baby. And then one started whining because he was hungry, but he was also jumping around the room and tap dancing because he was excited and wired. And I got pictures with my camera phone of everyone holding the baby, and only two pictures of me holding [now] Middle Munchkin Man, but none with me and baby, which was fine.
In other news:
BD2 proposed to my sister today. I am very much ok with this, as so far, aside from the two of them failing that drug test a couple months ago, he has shown himself to be good for her and the boys and even for my parents, helping out without question around the house as needed. I do really wish I could knock that idea of them trying again for a girl out of his head, though.
