Over the weekend I was at my parents' house briefly hanging out in the backyard and petting the dog. She is attached by rope to a stake in the middle of the yard that allows her to roam freely in the yard and garage but not escape after taking out a couple of fence boards.
The rope managed to wrap around the back of my ankle and then pull quickly when she got excited and ran to see someone. So, I have yet a second major rope burn around my ankle. The first was on the other leg and across the front and was about 1/2 the size of this one. There is still a mark where the wound is healing after a FULL YEAR.
This latest one occurred on Saturday. Today, while at work, my foot has started swelling. No discoloration yet, but yeah, I'm more than a bit worried. My regular doctor does not have any appointments left for this afternoon or all of tomorrow, and the receptionist has thus referred me to the hospital. Ugh. Yeah, this is painful. I'm not looking forward to a trip to the hospital or the bill I may incur. I may drag my mom with me for comfort...along with a couple blankets and possibly a pillow, because I know how hospital rooms get.
