Sadly, our Business Manager's mom passed away yesterday. The Business Manager was my old supervisor before I left for a year and a half and she's watched me grow up since I knew her even before working for the YMCA. I've been semi-close to the whole family for a while so I'm pretty saddened by her loss. I'm now just waiting for the funeral arrangement information so that I can plan to attend.

The Business Manager had been out of the office the past three weeks dealing with her mom's illness and she came in to work yesterday to process timesheets so that we can all get paid. I'm glad I took the time to give her a big hug before I left to come home as I know how hard it's been.

In separate news, my new boss started last week and is timidly working on passing along requests to me from the Exec. I can't say that she's scared of me, but she hasn't really taken over the role of my supervisor by any means. She had sent me an email last night saying that the Exec wanted something done by the end of the day today. This task is literally 4 times more work than a similar task that just took me a little over two days to do and this new task was supposed to be done in less than half the time. When I went to tell her that the goal was unrealistic she told me to go tell the Exec since it was what he wanted (read: bypass hierarchy so as to keep her nose nice and clean). So I go ask him about it and he changed what it was he was wanting and then started telling me that I should be asking her what she wants since she's my supervisor. I easily explained to him that it was she that told me to talk to him. They need to hurry up and get this shit worked out.

More than anything, I wish the Business Manager was my boss again. That would please me to no end.
