New Computers at Work
Jun. 21st, 2007 12:20 pmWe've upgraded finally to fancy flat panel montiors, MS Office 2007 with all the new toys they have with that, horrible keyboards with built in credit card scanners, and IE7. I finally get tabbed browsing and a mouse that includes a scroll wheel. Trying to get used to the new Office menus is a bit annoying and the internet page loading time has actually trippled in slowness from what it was before.
I hate this damned keyboard. I'm making typos like never before because the keys don't register when I click on them. I'm going to have to go shopping for a USB adapter for my old keyboard and just keep this one handy for when I need to scan credit cards, which back here in my office is practically never.
So, all in all, there's some good and some bad with getting these new systems.
EDIT: The IT guy told me that we actually kept the new Dell keyboards that come with these systems and just decided to buy extras of the shit keyboards. He also commented where he stored them in our building and that he can't be responsible for what happens to the computers after he's gone. I'z a happy typist now.
