I just finished reading the short story Burning Chrome by William Gibson. It was originally published in 1982. Imagine the Blade Runner cityscape, the Hackers graphical sequences representing hacking into the digital fortress, and Strange Days vitual reality addiction all rolled up into a little ball with a dash of literary time travel and corporate laser-stenciled body parts thrown in for good measure.

1 short story down, 12 more to go. Hackers Unite.

Actually if you ignore the presence of Dolph Lungren as "The Preacher" and the fact that the ultimate hacker in the story is a government enhanced dolphin the movie as a whole is actually a damned good Cyberpunk flick.

Personally, though its relatively B-Movie grade, my favorite Cyberpunk movie is Nemesis starring Alex Gruner. What kills me is I can't find a copy of it anywhere. Sucks.
