We've officially rolled our CSR and Dispatch lines to our Dallas office, so I've been in the office by myself starting this week.

On one hand, it's keeping me away from being CSR and dispatch back up (or primary, as has been the case half of my work week for the past couple months). That's freeing up a little bit of my time in general. Funny thing, though, in the past three days I've been more bombarded with emails than I typically ever am, and I've stayed pretty much just as busy if not more so with new random fires that have popped up this week. I hit 50 hours last week and I'm probably going to be pretty close to that again this week.

Today and tomorrow I'm being shadowed by another staff person who's still more or less in training for learning the business systems. She's the owner's sister, and I admit, I'm not completely sure I understand what her exact role is, but anyone that ever sees me do my work after a few days refuses to take my place when I offer them my job, and I don't think she'll be any different. I *think* she'll be taking over the accountant liaison's role when our current A/P person retires here shortly. My shadow called yesterday asking about why I send her a slew of emails with vendor receipts and POs in them, which I've been doing since she took over paying the vendor bills a month (or was it two?) ago, so I thought it was odd that she was asking me that question after so long a period of time. Once I explained it to her, I think things started clicking really well in her mind, and she suddenly realized that my emails will save her quite a lot of time when she's processing the bills. Regardless, I think she could very much stand to have the extra training with me, but most importantly, she definitely needs to see what I do in my office all day. Bossman doesn't actually know what I do with my time all day, and telling him "my job" doesn't amount to anything, so having her see and be a liaison for me to him will kind of benefit me and my job security in the long run.
