I found the rest of the little dude.

When I first made the discovery yesterday I went to my male coworker and said, "You're a boy. Wanna see something gross?" After all, I had to share this with someone, and it probably would have made my one female coworker sick. I even had one of my techs this morning ask to see the carnage after I mentioned what my morning task was going to be. (Of course, I think he was just hoping I'd bend over enough so that he could look down my shirt, considering he's my unabashed cad of the crew.)

I managed to remove two main panels and expose two computer boards, but I still couldn't get into the area with the rollers without removing those as well. Since there were no more guts spilling out onto future copies, I gave up and put the thing back together. Just as I was about to walk away, I noticed something on the table behind the machine, probably from when I had the whole thing turned on its side a couple times. Sure enough, there's the intact head, back and spine*, and a couple of legs, all nicely charred around the edges.

Poor little guy.

*The spine was clearly visible and unobstructed, as all the innards that would have blocked the view of it went kersplatter on my paper yesterday.
