Waiting for news about the house offer, and one of the houses I really wanted to see but it was above my price range dropped in price YESTERDAY to firmly within my price range. And unlike the house I've put an offer in on, this one wouldn't require any fixing up in order for me to move in. I can still go see this second house, and if I really want I can back out of my other offer, but it's just so frustrating that it would drop in price right while I'm in the middle of my waiting game for the other house. Grrrrr.
Why can't you apply for the other house, too, while waiting?
remember my house was still technically a snap decision. We didn't see anymore houses after that, but we were under a time limit and had to amscray from the apartment soon.
See if you can bid for both. Try to get the one you want.
Only one offer at any given time.
Putting in an offer is my written agreement that if they say yes to the offer then at that point I'm under contract to purchase the home. I can still keep looking to my heart's content, though. I would have to withdrawal the other offer before putting in a new offer on another house to avoid a potential legal issue. It can be done (more than one offer floating out there at once), but if two of my offers are accepted before I can withdrawal one of them, they both become legally binding contracts that I will purchase both homes (hence the term "under contract"). That would be fine if I were in the real estate business and was putting out offers right and left, but as a person looking for my primary home - no - this would equal very, very bad things.
