So, the favorite house from Sunday's search - under contract as of yesterday or today - I'm a day too late. The house has been on the market for over 200 days, and it goes under contract not 24hrs before I'm about to put in an offer. Figures. I still say I'd prefer to not live in Haltom City, so I'm not too horribly disappointed, but it would have been quite a good house for my needs.

The potential second favorite that has a spa, an open kitchen, and a fireplace that I was wanting to see this evening - being taken off the market as we speak, and the seller's real estate agent was happy to be rid of the owner and told my agent to feel free to take her on. O_O It's in north Haltom (meaning north of 820), so again, not my preferred location, but it came with a spa under a covered porch, and I think I would care less and less about the location the more I turned into a prune or warmed myself sitting next to the (horribly painted) fireplace in the winter. *le sigh*

So let's see, for this evening I originally had 6 houses to look at, but I took 2 off last night after driving by and seeing the neighborhood (I thought it was a different neighborhood across a major street, which actually makes a difference in this case). One of the remaining 4 went under contract. Now another one of those has fallen off, and I've added 2 others to look at after finding out the current owners might be handling some repairs on one of them that was a major concern of mine. One of the 2 added is a HUD property, so it cometh on the list and just as quickly it goeth off. And just for kicks, we're going to re-visit one of the ones from Sunday since it's a whole two blocks from one of the ones I really want to look at, as I was undecided as of Sunday how I really felt about it, and I realize there's a couple things about it I don't exactly recall now to help me make a decision. So, I think that means I have 4 on the list for after work. I think.

So.....The lesson here is to go with my agent's advice and if I see one I really like, put in the offer before it gets snagged the next day, since that seems to be running pattern.

And yes, the feeling from the previous post about that first offer house is still there gnawing at my skull.

Everyone rushes into a house

That's the market. You should ask her how easy it is to get out of an offer.
