Shit. Reading this article is depressing. I get the point of it, and I agree, but knowing when you are far BELOW that magical happiness ceiling really does put things into perspective.

To be fair, you were (and are still) interested in a certain level of computers/tech, which didn't involve the stupid people and out-of-date systems. I think you would love your job if The Powers The Be actually listened to you when you make recommendations and if the end users were drones that you could actually command to do as they are told instead of what they think they heard. I picture you in your office commanding the entire empire while cackling and petting Himmies. :)

Lol. Yes an office cat would improve things. But mostly what I dislike about my job is that I just truly don't care about anything we do, and therefor, anything I do. It's a means to a paycheck.

My enthusiasm used to be such that I would tweak my systems endlessly. I would run multiple OS's. I would take pleasure in compiling my own software.

And you best believe I would have rooted my phone by now.

But these days, meh. I just want shit to do what it's supposed to and not make me put in any effort.
