What I needed
I arrived in time to see my grandmother's last few breaths. The memorial service came about an hour later, and we went out for a cigarette while they took care of her. We retrieved her belongings to bring back home with all the rest of her stuff that just got moved yesterday.
My schizophrenic uncle kept tapping me on the shoulder and then waving at me when I looked up.
He also slapped at my hand when I was biting a nail. That pissed me off, but I didn't want to upset him more than necessary right at that moment, so I kept my hands away from my mouth the rest of the time.
Mom grabbed us some chicken for dinner. I ate, and I was still hungry, but too moody to eat any more. I was thinking what I really wanted was to get home and see if I could raid the kitchen for some chocolate.
Jeanne and I had talked yesterday about how I accidentally bought another bottle of shampoo instead of conditioner a few weeks back, and that I'd been too lazy to make my way back to the store to get what I actually needed. She had some that she really liked and that she said she would lend to me to try out until I replaced my own.
When I came home from my parents' house, there was a bottle of conditioner and a Hershey's bar sitting on my desk. Thank you, Jeanne. :)
