Yes, I survived
Feb. 6th, 2006 11:36 amFriday night I headed over to
mr_rubix's for movies and drinking. It was a good evening of game chat and random tv watching. I managed to drink way more than I should which resulted in a not-so-good alcohol poisoning and a 2-hour delay trying to get up and make my way to the CP game the next day. If I hadn't kidnapped
mr_rubix to help with this I doubt I would have made it to the game. After a few hours, the concoction created by
koed, and many earlier prayers to the porcelain gods, my body final reset and I was able to fully enjoy the game and the dinner that I made for everyone. Sunday: recovery via many naps and some relaxing evening movies.
Quick movie review:
If you want to slash your wrists after watching a horrible train wreck, then go rent Dragonhead. Otherwise, cut the damn head off of the dragon and leave that movie alone. It has some interessting set designs, but you want to kill all of the characters the moment you are introduced to them. Here is a nice play-by-play write up of the movie with some scene footage, although these guys liked the movie unlike myself.
Immortel was absolutely amazing and quite fitting with our CP2020 game and the possibility of a CP-future game.
koed, you must see this if you haven't yet.

The pasta bake was quite tasty.

Date: 2006-02-06 07:42 pm (UTC)And never underestimate the power...
Date: 2006-02-06 07:43 pm (UTC)I only wish that I had a translation for what Horus, Bast, and Anubis were saying inside the damn pyramid.
Re: I've still got the copy from Blockbuster.
Date: 2006-02-06 07:49 pm (UTC)Well, we rented it Sunday night, not Friday
Date: 2006-02-06 07:50 pm (UTC)At the very least, then, I'll swing it out after work on Friday.
Date: 2006-02-06 07:50 pm (UTC)Hehe, you beat me

Re: Well, we rented it Sunday night, not Friday
Date: 2006-02-06 07:55 pm (UTC)Could be earlier if the rumors on the floor are true.

Date: 2006-02-06 07:56 pm (UTC)That is both cool and frustrating.
Date: 2006-02-06 07:57 pm (UTC)Time to MST3K the conversations, then...
Re: And never underestimate the power...
Date: 2006-02-06 07:59 pm (UTC)...later on "where is that fucker (pardon the pun, considering the movie), his time's almost out and I'm going to have to give away some of my minions if he doesn't hurry"
Keep me informed if things go south and you have time free.
Date: 2006-02-06 08:05 pm (UTC)And if you end up watching it on Sunday as a group - count me in!
