My most favorite of these kinds of statements is:

Eat to Live, Don't Live to Eat

I came across another one today in a book I'm reading at work on eliminating blame, complaining and procrastination:

It's better to be one who is told to wait than one who waits to be told.

That's a pretty nifty one.
