Because today is all about me and my tea kettle plight. If I were British, this would be a national catastrophe.

So, looking more closely at the bottom of the kettle at [livejournal.com profile] jdack's prodding (because I apparently am blind as a bat), I found that the kettle is made by Copco. As you can see from that link, they no longer make that design.

Along with the kettle proposed by [livejournal.com profile] mr_rubix (see previous post), I also came across this larger, but very similar style, kettle while looking at Copco Google images*. I recommend it if you are looking for a full-sized kettle with the same features I've been mentioning.

Another thing I also look for in the handle is it's ability to move only when you push it rather than suddenly drop down while trying to pour. The latter tends to cause unnecessary burns. Also, you want the handle strong enough so that it doesn't drop while boiling. If it drops then, it will most likely land on the side of the kettle and get hot and burn you when you go to pick it up again.

You know, this LJ posting arc all boils down to one simple truth. I never should have accidentally left my kettle at my parents' house for a 24 hour period.

*As an aside, if you use Firefox I highly recommend getting the Cooliris add on in order to quickly sift through Google image results using their wall of images. It's really nifty and quite the time saver.

That is an extremely badass plugin. Surprised I never heard of it before.
