Yes, folks. I'm starving, I'm in a good mood, and I shall be face planted in front of Stewart and Colbert this evening. At first I was going to try something simple - a basic cheese/meat/cracker tray from the local grocery store becasue I was for some reason craving it after munching on one during the last DnD game. But then while trying to find a price for the tray online I came across a recipe for a rollatini (sic) that seemed simple enough.

After some searching and plotting and planning, I think I'm going to go all out and try the cooking in the kitchen thing again.

The Menu:
- Italian bread with garlic and herb oil
- Herb and Cheese Stuffed Portobellos (I've made this once before and learned not to scorch the cheese, so hopefully it will be a bit better this time around.)
- A simple Caprese
- Chicken, Mozzarella/Parmesan and Prosciutto Involtini (as my roomates will kill me if I don't include real meat somewhere in this menu, I'm substituting the chicken for the typical eggplant involtini)
- Creme Brulee

What's that you say? Creme Brulee is French and does not fit with the Italian theme? I know. But I don't feel like waiting the eon it takes for the Coffee Panna Cotta to set, I love Creme Brulee, and I get to play with my new blowtorch for the first time. I may also just buy a pre-made cheesecake in case I fail miserably at the Creme Brulee and/or set the apartment on fire. That way there is a backup dessert ready and waiting.

A blowtorch is *always* a reason to make a desert.
