:( [livejournal.com profile] bluemurf has gone back to Seattle. Good luck girl getting into Canada.

I drove a totally wasted Rachel and Josh home from The Church last night. If I didn't have to drive I probably would have been just as wasted. I still had plenty of drinks and probably would have failed a breath test although I was still driving straight as an arrow. I know when I can't drive and it usually coincides with when I also can't seem to stand any longer. Haven't been there in a long time because I am always the driver nowadays.

I finally made it to my parent's house after three or four weeks to do laundry and help my nephew build a make-shift tent in the middle of the living room. Mom threw magazines at me to go through and pick out stuff for x-mas. She messed up when she handed me the Spiegel catalogue. So many good things to buy, so little money. I actually made many marks in that one, but I think it was just me in my wishful thinking mood.

I've decided to drop the one class that I'm taking at school. I'll still be working in the lab. We still have McNair seminars. I will be going to Wisconsin to give my McNair presentation at the beginning of November. I still need to study for and take the GRE test. And I need to start looking into and researching grad schools. I just can't bring myself to study for this class. Too much going on. To much partying to be had at the moment. Too many movies to watch and too many computer games to play.

Speaking of lab, we've added another girl who is an evacuee from New Orleans. That makes 9 girls I have to oversee running participants.

We also just enrolled two children who are evacuees into our after school program at work. The families are somehow related and are living in apartments with the kids going to school. I can't imagine being forced to relocate so dramatically.

Work is finally becoming smooth rather than chaotic. This is a good thing.
