Hairdressers are a great bunch of people to talk to, provided that you actually find the right ones to talk to. Most of the ones I come across really are ditzier than ditz.

The lady that did my hair yesterday was all manners of cool and awesome, and I got along with her fantastically. Most of our conversations revolved around my graduation, teenagers these days, and the court tv show that was playing at the time.

However, there was one brief conversation that she recounted from earlier in the day with another customer that stood out like a sore thumb, and I've been trying to put it out of my head ever since. It's not working. So, I figure I would put it to the public to discuss just to see if anyone else would like to share their own gut reactions to this. I just listened to her mention it but did not offer any opinion to the matter as my non-political brain just went into duh-brain-mush mode the moment it was brought up.

The conversation goes as follows: The political situation in the US today, given a recession/depression/OMGForeclosure atmosphere and the power held in the hands of the government, is very similar to that of the 30's. Obama has managed to put himself on the pedestal as a man of change and has managed to capture the hearts of the masses. Obama is set up to be the next Hitler.

So, yeah - there's your little mind bug for the day. Discuss.

Not sure why the person would have picked Hitler from all of the leaders who came out in the 30's. After all, using the same base Obama has set himself up to be the next Roosevelt. It could be the propoganda that has been going around that Senator Obama does not unconditionally support Israel that might be the basis for this person's idea, which if I remember started going around earlier this year.
