Yesterday I stopped by a Blockbuster that is closing and has everything at 50% off. In one fell swoop I descended upon them and spent the $300 in birthday money I received from my mom, buying just over $600 worth of movies.

I was trying to just put the money into my account to make up for the $300 in clothes that I desperately had to purchase for myself for summer. Gaining weight is no bueno on the pocketbook. But that clearance sign was calling to me, and I had to take advantage of it. This comes just on the heels of spending another $150 in movies at Fry's prior to knowing about the Blockbuster come hither signs of sexiness.

There are places in this world that are evil, and these are the places in which I seem to have uncontrollable urges to spend money. And yet I love them so.

I decided that I wanted good company for dinner last night, although I didn't make my wishes known until, well, just after the typical working woman's dinner time. K&E had already been out and knocked a few back and then stumbled into home, the cats, the floor - no really, Kev totally hit the floor after bending over backwards while playing with the kitty toy and rolling off of the side table. It was comedy gold for which I truly hope he is not suffering this morning.

Anyway, I was craving Mongolian and [livejournal.com profile] my_window_seat hadn't been yet, so Eileen handed over some cash for us two b-day girls to have a nice dinner. We headed out and arrived at Chan's Mongolian at 9:08pm, just in time to find out that during the week they close at 9pm. *sigh*

That's alright. We went across the street to Carino's instead, which was still open. Despite a sort of frantic and absent-minded waiter, we eventually received our dipping bread, our drinks, our stuffed mushrooms, and our tasty entrees. It was nice for both of us to relax and just enjoy our meals.

I still want to take her to Mongolian, and later to the Medi restaurant that we love. But first, I have to let my checkbook once again recover from the Movie Pile Of Doom.

I need another dvd cabinet. My 300dvd cabinet, which was supposed to take a few years to fill, lied to me. It has been easily filled in just under a year. I know this, because I purchased it as my b-day gift to myself last year.

Pretty cabinets:
Pretty, but doesn't hold enough
Also pretty, with glass, but still not quite a bag of holding
360dvds, but no doors to help prevent dust
448 tower of power, but not pretty
yeah, I need to save up some more money

This reminded me of you since I know you just finished up your Ikea storage cabinet project.

I wonder how it is that thousands of birds and thousands of fish can swarm so easily without hitting each other.

Yet put a couple of humans on a sidewalk...
