After trying my hand a couple of times, both quite successful, and having just now watched Chef Marc Bauer making creme brulee, I can officially state that I have no clue as to how someone can screw it up.

Work update

I've been spending a lot of time getting transferred over to the new desk, setting up shop to my preference, understanding the stacks of unknown paperwork, fielding requests upon requests regarding "how things will be done with you in charge," and flailing like a chicken. I put in some extra hours off the clock today just to feel a bit more comfortable with where my workload left off for the day and to do a bit of cleaning. It was totally worth it for my piece of mind. There's still more to come during the rest of this week, but now that I'm getting more comfortable in my new desk, which still doesn't feel quite like mine until my OCD nature has touched every inch of vertical and horizontal surface (including the dark dungeons of the drawers and under-desk), I think I'm going to survive this week.
