Winter Break starts today so there will be about 50 or so kids at work all day every day for the next 2.5 weeks. My noise-canceling headphones will become my new best friend. Now if only I had some good music to listen to. I have issues with taking cd's that I'm not willing to part with to work with me. Perhaps I should invest in an mp3 player, but so far I haven't even looked into them.

I am going to try to go to Elizabeth's funeral tomorrow afternoon. It will cut in to my work time which I'll have to make up later. There will be a lot of YMCA employees there who also paid their respects when my grandfather passed away, since both my mom and I work for the Y and deal a lot with the same staff at different branches throughout Fort Worth, particularly the Metro Office where Elizabeth worked. A part of me doesn't want to go. My mom was already planning on going, but I really hate that her boss asked her to go to "represent our branch." I find that absolutely shitty. Perhaps it's because of that exact attitude that I almost don't want to go. Not because I don't want to pay my respects, but because of all of the other people that are there out of some sort of work obligation crap. God I hate funerals.

Sharla's doing ok after her car wreck. Apparently an 18-wheeler swerved causing another car to swerve which in turn caused her to take out the side guard rail on the freeway. Luckily the car stopped before heading down a steep hill/embankment. The car had to be towed and she got burns from the airbag and I'm sure a lot of bruising and internal stuff that will show up over the course of the next day or so. The truck never stopped (probably oblivious to the whole thing), but other witnesses did stop, which was nice.

Tonight, tomorrow evening and perhaps some of Saturday morning will be spent with my mom working an Organizing job. $45/hour sounds nice and will help pay for Christmas gifts. Granted that for both of us, but still. A little extra cash never hurt.

While I was in the drive-thru at lunch, my first impression of the guy in the truck behind me was that of a look-alike Sawyer from LOST. Upon second glance I decided that his trimmed look and shoulder-length hair really made him look more like Jesus. So I'm thinking to myself, "heh, Jesus is behind me in the drive-thru." The thought amused me, since nothing else was amusing at the moment. As I was getting my food, he starts yelling to get the attention of the guy handing me my food. I hear him say, "Can you let her know that she's got a tail light out?"

Heehee. My own personal drive-thru Jesus. It's a sign. I guess I better get the tail light fixed.

*Spoiler Warning if you haven't already seen LOST*

I like how this video splices together the various scenes so far shown of the LOST plane crash into a chronological order. They really could have picked better music though.

This one is pretty good as well. It has larger snippets and makes the timing of the crash less instantaneous feeling. However, it has orginal LOST soundtrack, which helps.
