YMCA helps victims
Sep. 1st, 2005 02:56 pmLots of news at work about how YMCA camp grounds are offering cabins/cots for families. The one's I've hear about specifically are Camp Forbing/Shreveport, Camp Pine Tree/Spring, Texas (just outside of Houston), and Camp Carter here in Fort Worth. I imagine Camp Grady Spruce will also be opening it's grounds in Dallas.
Along with the cabins/cots, Camp Forbing is offering their acreage for FEMA to set up tent cities.
So along with the Astrodome, any one of these camp grounds could use supplies as well. This may provide anyone local with places to drop off supplies without having to drive too far. Call first to see if they have in fact begun accepting families and what their needs may be.
