I liked Hooters and didn't even realize it. At least, I didn't realize that I like these Hooters.

[livejournal.com profile] corzican has purchased one of those old-fashioned looking record players with built-in AM/FM and cd player. I've been wanting one myself for years, but have never bought one. We then trekked over to Half-Price Books so that he could pick up some albums (and I buy a ton more movies). One album he picked up was Hooter's Nervous Night and he's playing it for me this morning, because I insist I've never heard of the band. My responses:

First Song, And We Danced: "Oh,yeah. I know this song. This was one of my favorites growing up. I guess I just never knew who sang it."

Second Song, Day By Day: "Wow, I know this one two. You know, come to think about it, I knew that both of these songs were sung by the same group, but I guess I never really knew who the group was. [starts singing to the song]"

Third Song, All You Zombies: "Shit, I know this one too! I don't think I ever learned the words, but I sure as hell know the song."

So, yeah. I can shout it from the rooftop now: I LIKE HOOTERS!

That's The Hooters.

Although a lot of people skipped it, there were more than a few great tracks on Zig-Zag that never got airplay.

I know, but that totally screws with my play on words.

Tell him he could always check out Forever Young Records in Arlington. They typically have a pretty good selection.

I'll do that.

Hey, when are we gonna hang out again? Plus, how the hell can I be Aunt Nikki to little Ashton if I never see him?
