I am making my list of recipients for my official graduation announcements. I never really know how interested some people are in receiving these. Family, long-term friends, old co-workers and school mentors I have a pretty good reading on, but I honestly have no idea when it comes to friends. I know I personally have a few friends that if they didn't send me an announcement I'd have to kill them, but there are plenty of other friends that I wouldn't be upset one way or the other. Needless to say, I have no idea which friends are in which category.

So, if you would like to receive an announcement, please leave a (screened) comment here along with the address for me to mail it to. A few friends are getting announcements whether they like it or not, but I don't have a proper address for mailing. I will probably order them not this weekend, but next weekend, and I'll need to have a final count by then.

I always have mixed feelings about having to drive for 35 minutes and walk for ten minutes just to find out that my class has been canceled. Then to have to do the return process to come back home.

EDIT: And yes, the drive time was through the same thick fog and traffic that everyone else experienced this morning.

The rain just went from rain to sleet.

Now if it would just go from sleet to snow.

I'm so glad I finished my section of the paper last night, made it to class on time this morning, managed to keep my eyes open long enough to edit through someone else's paper, and am now back home cuddling under blankets with hot instant cappuccino.

Come on snow. You can dooooo eeeet. I have faith in you.

EDIT: It's been full sleet for 20 minutes now.
EDIT2: It's now been a full hour or sleet, and cuddling alone is not as fun as one would think.

Ugh

And the teacher would like to use my paper as an example for future classes.

(This will just be a common theme until I finish this class.)

I chose to get my degree via the Interdisciplinary Studies department because UTA SUCKS ASS (I totally concur with that sentiment being written on the bathroom stall) and does not have an already integrated AI program. Plain and simple.

I am quite aware of the fact that I chose to take classes from both the psychology and the math departments BECAUSE I WAS FORCED TO. I know that sounds paradoxical, me choosing to take classes because I have to, but it's really not when you consider that the AI field is highly competitive and everyone else at every other school already has the benefit of being involved in an interdisciplinary degree.

So then, to the point of my rant. Why must I have to write a paper explaining that I understand the "interdisciplinary process"???

As [livejournal.com profile] mr_rubix summed up nicely: "MATH IS GUD! PSYCH IS GUD! MATH + PSYCH == WIN!!"

It's now 3:30am and I have finally finished re-writing my whole intro section to match the scoring rubric.

Also, after meeting with the instructor, she displayed her disbelief in some of the other students' papers and I'm pretty much teaching her how to do APA citations.

So I was able to make it to two out of the three birthday events for Angeline. The dinner was planned and I really had the good intentions of going to kareoke and perhaps Denny's afterward, but I knew I had a lot of school work to accomplish the next day and desparately needed sleep. But the neighbors decided to throw a party which caused me to rejoin the group for Shithead-fest at Denny's.Read more... )
