This afternoon, as I was driving home, I got to pull over and watch as a HUGE 4-prop plane flew over my head. It flew from over downtown Fort Worth and appeared to be turning into final for DFW. I opened my moon roof to see as it flew straight above me.

It was all silver metal and looked vintage, but despite how much I love watching planes, I really don't know much about them, so I don't know for sure what kind it was. Despite my lack of knowledge, it was still quite glorious to roll down my window and listen to it hum as it flew over.

Ideas of what it appeared to look like, at least:
York

I am still quite remiss that I had to pick between girl's night and OMG Stuffed Belly of DOOM while enjoying the tastiness that is always a churrascaria.

My life, it is to Woe.

EDIT: Damn, I have to spend 2 hours shopping for more movies while waiting for the sushi restaurant to open. How suck is that?

BTW - If I ever actually sound like this in my real life speech, please slap me back to reality.

Good Day

For the past couple days my head has been in a tailspin. I jumped at the chance to go hang out this evening swimming and drinking and casually relaxing. (Having your own alcohol that no one else will touch already stowed away at your favorite pool haunt has some benefits.) Boy, I needed that, and now my hands feel like jello while typing. Weeeeeee.

I came home to find a really nifty Tangoes set laying on my desk. I discovered that it was bequeathed to me and sent via multiple handshakes. :D I LOVE the self-contained portable style of this game. Also, the instructions lie - LIE I tell you! They mention wooden pieces and mine are cheap, durable, gonna last forever plastic pieces.

But hey, I <3 the black and red versus the what-could-have-been blue and red set. Blegh.

Thanks, lady. :)

Yesterday was a not good day. I started off with my head spinning and me so absolutely nauseous that I took the morning off from work. The spinning finally subsided, but the rest of the day was just generally stressful for me. I was able to work through some of it talking with a friend yesterday evening, which was nice.

Today, however, is much different.

Happy, happy, happy

Of course this just means I'm sort of waiting for a big crash to surprise me soon. Obviously I'd rather like to be able to stay in a good mood for an indefinite period of time, so for now I'm quite content with my current ecstatic state.

I got to have a really pleasant 1-hr long chat with my friend Charm in Australia. They are preparing for a cyclone to hit Perth head-on come this time tomorrow. I hadn't been able to actually "talk" with her in forever. It was good being able to hear her voice. :)

That reminds me, I still have the pics of her labeled as BlueMurf, which she hasn't used as an LJ handle in quite some time. I need to update those.

No matter how many times I tell John to turn off the light in the bathroom, he still leaves it on.

Like right now. He came in for a brief moment, and I'll be damned if the light isn't still on in there. Good thing I need to head that way one last time before I go to sleep tonight. I just don't know if I would have been able to handle the all of 10 paces it takes for me to get all the way over there just to turn out the light.

I wonder if he's this abusive to his apartment back home.

Good luck, mate. :)

No really, I'm heading to my parents' house shortly, just for the children. Well, not entirely. I need to grab unwrap my new gaming headphones mom got me and put under the Temp Tree.

I also need to play with a special kitten and coax a special other cat out from hiding so she can know it's ok to be a lap kitty instead of an under-bed monster kitty.

A bunch of you just got a gift in your emails.

If you didn't get something, you either live outside of the US or I may not have your email or I just overlooked it. Drop a line and I'll send something - comments screened.

At my request, Eileen picked up a (don't know how many feet) lawn trampoline from her Fairly Goth Mother who was moving and giving some stuff away.

I spent most of Sunday assembling the frame and putting on the jump mat. It still has safety pads and a net wall to be added, but it is perfectly functional. I wore a skimpy tank top because I knew it would be hot, and if you know me you know I'm quite fond of my tanks. Well with not a single cloud in the sky this also meant my first sunburn in probably 2-3 years. Luckily it wasn't too bad - just a nice light red instead of beet red or 2nd degree (yes, I've had 2nd-borderline-3rd degree sunburn before, so I damn well know what I'm talking about).

It felt pretty awesome being handed a bunch of parts and told, look, you have a new puzzle to play with, and me actually being able to put it together on my own. I still can't figure out why there are almost twice the number of springs and twice the number of hooks on the mat, so I'm still not 100% sure that I've built this thing correctly.

But it bounces ok.

EDIT: So there are holes underneath the poles for the additional springs. Odd. The bulk of the bouncing force is in a downward motion. I guess they are just being careful.

A real, honest to goodness letter. With ink and lined paper. And an envelope with an address on it and a stamp!

It's been a while since I've done something like that.

Xmas/New Year cards arrived and were passed out diligently to das roommies.

They each got some great giggles, including one in which [livejournal.com profile] koed is reading his wife's card mentioned "keeping Nikki from going insane." He claims that you must not know either of us very well, bwahahahaha!

It's little gifts like that that make the world a little better to tolerate.

Thank you, darling.

I just got home from visiting with a friend and I remembered that this is spring break and I don't have class tomorrow. I get to sleep in, and no work makes Nikki a happy kitty! Prrrr.
