12-hr buzz

I have niagra falls coming out of my nose, so last night I took a chance and took Mucinex DM. Remember, the DM makes me high, and it's a 12-hr dose. It seemed to help pretty quickly. I did take some Benadryl when it was time to go to bed to counteract the shaky hands and weird eyesight I already had. Weird, buzzing dreams ensued, including getting not one but two earworms stuck in head. How can one get UB40's There's a Rat in the Kitchen mixed up with the opening lines of the Superman Theme Song?
There's nothing much more annoying than waking up with liquid dripping out of your nose again. Even though I still have the buzzing feeling, the falls keep coming. I took another decongestant that doesn't have the DM (the ONLY one I can find specifically designed to both not have DM and not have the "non-drowsy" label on it - I WANT to be drowsy at bed time, damn it!).
Also, the word drowsy is kind of funny sounding. It's one of those words that seems foreign to me right now, although that could be the DM messing with my little brain connections.
Drowsy reminds me of douse, which isn't spelled anything like it. And now I'm starting to sound like Pontypool and whats-her-face's poodle. HAHAHA. By the way, if you try to do a search for "pontypool poodle" you get "Pet Perfection Poodle Parlour" in the UK. Someone was being quirky and didn't realize how awful a tongue twister that one is. A part of me wants to spend the long-distance money to call them up just to hear their phone greeting. If I worked there, I would lobby to change it to "4-P Retreat" or something, just so I wouldn't have to trip over myself answering the phone.
Did I mention that I'm high?
