The Tape, It Is Red
I have to pull plumbing permits with the local city municipalities as part of my job, and almost all of the cities are now online to varying degrees, with most of them updating in their online systems immediately, including when the inspector has been out to take a look at the work and pass it.
I get a ticket for running a red light (yeah, I just wasn't paying attention when the coast was clear and I went ahead and turned, thinking it was a green-yield instead of red), which I was prepared to take care of immediately and request deferred disposition on since I haven't had so much as a ticket in ~10 years. However, two weeks later and the courts still don't even have record that the ticket exists, so according to two office clerks now, even if I appear at the court with the ticket in hand as per the instructions on the ticket, they're just going to look at me funny and send me on my way.
