He doesn't mention the one thing that always blows my mind, which is that color perceived is the complete opposite of the actual color of an object. A black shirt is PERCEIVED as black because all the light waves get absorbed, which means the ACTUAL color of the shirt might be white. Vice versa for a white shirt, and all the rest of the objects in your perceived light bands.

At 4:24 I'm reminded of the current tests being done using electrical stimulant probes, which can actually change someone's opinion about something. It's the entire concept behind the cochlear implants, which works by activating the same area of the brain that should be activated if the hearing process connected between the ear and brain were normal.

The fact that I can have thoughts that I stumble trying to put into words shows how limited language really is. I love learning words created in other languages to describe something that I have no English equivalent for.

Yep, it makes perfect sense that if an ape that learns sign language is only communicating at a 2.5 year old level, and that theory of mind occurs in regular human development at around age 4 (about the same time we're also understanding concepts like value and volume, which are actually the same concept in two different shells), well, you can do basic math, right?

It's the last thing that I like the best.
