The pilot for The Bridge aired this past Wednesday on FX.

It has Diane Kruger playing an El Paso police detective with Asperger's.

I love Diane Kruger. I don't typically watch a TV show or movie just because someone says that there's a character in it that's supposed to be on the autism spectrum, but I couldn't pass up seeing Diane at work.

Not only is her character fascinating, but the show itself looks to be off to an interesting start. It's set on the El Paso/Ciudad Juarez border (hence the name of the show). The ongoing plot line appears to be a serial killer trying to bring attention to the differences between how Americans and Mexicans handle murder cases, and probably other issues like drug cartels, etc. Diane's character is paired with Demián Bichir's character, a detective from Juarez. The characters will spend just as much time in each location, and all scenes set in Mexico will be filmed in Spanish with English subtitles.

Read that article I linked up there for a good write-up of the show. I agree with the final conclusion that I can't decide how good the show will be overall, as so far the pilot was a bit slow in building it's cliff hangers, which is a bit annoying. Hopefully future episodes will move at a better pace and quickly start giving more answers than questions. I won't have the patience to keep watching if the pace doesn't pick up at least a little bit. That being said, the show so far has my attention.

I'm surprised the MA (mature audience) rating only lists L for language and doesn't mention anything about displaying the dead corpses (and their innards). I guess that's not gore enough.

Also, the best line in that review above:
I had no idea Matthew Lillard could play an adult.
