Birthday Cakes

Eileen has been posting b-day cakes for folks, and it inspired me to go on a curious search for steampunk cakes. I found a few I really like, so I'll just link them instead of inserting full picture images.

Steampunk Kitchen Mixer - the added sifter and grinder in the pics are kind of a neat touch.
Top-Hat - I like this series of pics, because it also shows off the detail of the leather strip and binding that is on the back.
White Wedding Steampunk Cupcakes
I can hear the sounds of steam-piped accordion music coming from this thing
This one has to be my favorite
Woah, Colourful! (sic) - what I really like about this pic isn't the cake, but the awesome mirror frame design in the background. Want!
Machinarium cake!
This one's just cute - I love the tinting of the purple roses
SecondLife Cog Cake
Another intricate pretty
Gray cupcakes
Dalek-Turned-Steampunk-Cupcake-Machine - lol
Edible Chocolate Candy Gears - perfect for any steampunk cake
Hard to believe this is a cake
Circus Travel Coach - at least, that's what it reminds me of
Awesome wood design and open panels - the better to view the coggy innards, m'dear

The Aubin Trophy would make an excellent cake reproduction - Up close look at the locks and keys, and Charles Aubin's and the trophy's history

I stumbled upon this image, and now I want a full blown poster of it for my wall. Additional link for reference to the artist.

xkcd cake!

This cake has inspired me to go on a Giger cake hunt, which I am sorely resisting right about now.

Okay, I couldn't resist, but the Giger cake search was disappointing. On the other hand, I found Giger-inspired purses that makes me think a Giger-inspired messenger bag would be pretty nifty to have.
