I'm getting caught up on watching episodes of Forever, and something has been annoying the crap out me.
This guy's smart and intelligent, but they portray him like Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock got buried in a grave for the bulk of the 20th century and dug up only fairly recently a la Ichabod Crane in Sleepy Hollow.
He's "old fashioned" and never seemed to have evolved his personality to fit with the times after the 1930's. His occasional lack of knowledge of basic current day lingo is supposed to be enduring, but it's grating me slightly (although I also prefer "comics" over "graphic novels"). I admit I was intrigued with the instant-deduction super-ability after watching The Librarian, and I enjoyed how it was applied in Sherlock, but that's starting to get old as well.
I still like the show in general, but these are a couple shticks I could do without.
