The good news is my tonsils eased up. The bad news is, yeah, that's definitely some colorful snot, and I'm now coughing it out of my lungs. Luckily it hasn't hit my ears. Sinus infections tend to turn into ear infections for me as well, and I'm not there just yet.
The roommates had an extra Z-pack squirreled away that didn't get used a while back. I'm the happy recipient of it. Even if I could call the phone doc and get a prescription called in, it would still mean having to get in my car to go out to a pharmacy with the roads still sleet covered. Considering I had to do that twice on Friday, I'm really not interested in getting back on the road again until they've cleared up. I stocked up on Kleenex, NyQuil, DayQuil, and decongestants well before fall hit, let alone winter.
I'm now hoping that the roads are still bad enough on Monday that the courts cancel, and I'll be excused of my jury duty. If the roads clear, then I'll still have to show up in person to request the deferment, when I'd much rather sleep in and get myself better. I'll probably still call the doctor and schedule an appointment, as much as I don't want to. Maybe she'll prescribe another Z-pack and then we'll have another spare in the house for the next time someone gets ill.
