Friday Night Brain Party
I drank quite a bit of honey bourbon last night. Woke up with a slight hangover, which still hurts, but isn't of the death-level that most of my hangovers tend to be when I get them.
I had a realization about TV. TV appeals to our minds' need for predictability. Shows are predictable. Characters are predictable. Yeah, you get a rare gem here and there that goes against what you expect, but overall predictable foresight and hindsight are keys to the audience wanting to come back for more.
I also had a realization about my recent dating history. I deserve better. Maybe if I can keep hold of this thought long enough, I'll stop being quite so depressed about it. We'll see.

I took my nephews bowling today. They were mostly good sports, although ADHD Boy requires constant attention to keep him out of the way of the other patrons. He also threw a mini tantrum when it was time to go and he couldn't understand why he couldn't bowl another game and get instantly better at bowling.
I saw a lizard on the sidewalk and Momma Bunny (or possibly Daddy, who knows) in the front yard of my parents' house when it was time for me to leave. They've been maintaining a patch of grass for the bunnies in the front yard for a few years now. There's always bunnies, lizards, geckos, and frogs in their front yard. There's also the occasional snails on the front walk that freak me out when they are in season. I always look like a weirdo trying to dodge stepping on the snails in order to get to and from my car.
I went to see Oblivion this evening. I knew there was a twist to the story, and I was kinda proud of myself that I guessed it. I love movies with a twist.
