So Sore

Class did me in yesterday.

I managed to wrench my wrist to the point that it hurts to write, but I can still use the mouse and mostly type, although slowly and with many breaks to rest. The entire right arm is one huge muscle knot and pulls and hurts in every direction I try to stretch it. I also managed to get a pretty nice knock to my knee which is bruising up nicely, and a good poke to next to my right eye.

Why haven't I talked about such pains in the past few weeks? Although I've only been in class for a little over a year now, I'm considered one of the more advanced students, so I have been getting paired with a lot of newer students in more of a teaching capacity. Also, a lot of the female students tend to prefer to pair up with me, with a couple of them sighting me out to get my attention before I can be paired with anyone else. The past few times I've been paired with females who are lucky to surpass 90lbs if that and are easily a good foot shorter than me. This means that I'm rarely getting paired with higher level guys with whom I can be more gruff and who will in turn give me a higher level of necessary roughness so that I can better hone my skills. I learn a lot teaching, but my muscles aren't quite getting the workout they need.

I specifically picked out one of the guys to work with during the first hour yesterday. I learned that by working with the newer students, I'm missing the element of strength that I need to overcome a tougher opponent. Most of the girls I work with either don't fight back or are easily intimidated by any level of pain so I don't have to be all that rough to get them to move. It does help me see how little I need to get some people's attention. I was so happy to work with someone else, though.

The pain in my wrist and arm does not affect my 10-key by touch in the slightest, but using the stamper for the backs of the checks for the deposit had me crying in pain. Go figure.
