Reading up on teleology and teleonomy is fascinating.

This web browsing has also led to an interesting book review regarding teleopathy and consciousness.

EDIT: And an interesting critique of the same book. (The first article in this link is also an interesting read.)

"If facts are set up as values because they are written [in] a mission statement that means that they are not values. If they have to [be] written and enforced by means of education they are not ethical strengths."

"If you have a conscience you will feel guilt and that is because you know that you haven't behaved in the way you morally feel to be right."

"...[W]e can reflect in a much wider sense than the teleopath, with his fixation on profit maximisation, could ever imagine."

Reflect, yes, but does reflection solve anything? Action, not reflection.

Practice, not programs.
(reference from a previous meme post regarding the book The Losers)

However, sometimes a little reflection is necessary in order to induce action, and sometimes programs, training, and learning are required prior to practicing.

EDIT:
Hahahaha - Of course, regarding the first section above, I now have to wonder about the Fifteen Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule, the latter to which the author herself refers.
