I just learned about hari-kuyo.

Even the knights have carved faces!

The only thing I think it needs, as I don't believe it does, is a way to actually lock the pieces into those cubby sections that are carved into the inside of the case, to keep them from moving around inside.

Why do the bishops look like salt grinders?

I'm not questioning why brain hat came up during my search for carved book rests, but there ya go!

Eh, not quite as impressive until you add the "carved out of automobile tires" part to that sentence.
