Well, as I just posted, I learned how to make the Hindenburg out of a tea bag, but that was just icing on the cake.

Other things I learned before fire-Hinden:
How to make sushi: nigiri, sashimi, california rolls, tuna rolls, tiger rolls, etc.
How to make sushi rice
How to make miso soup
How to make miso paste (the Nutcracker way)
How to make miso paste (the not-so-Nutcracker way)
How to eat all of the above properly (even I've been technically messing up a couple of points)
How to make Kaisendon

How to whiten your teeth with a strawberry (no, really)

Something I haven't looked up yet:
Sushi sauces and their recipes

Things to buy: (I've already found some good all-in-one kits - now to actually pick one)
bamboo sushi rolling mat
wooden rice paddle (even though I have a plastic one that came with my rice cooker)
hangiri (rice bowl)
maybe some various rice molds (omg I found the cutest 'kawaii' molds known to man)
sashimi knife (preferably with a wooden handle - I like wooden handled knives a lot for some reason)
not necessary, but who am I kidding, I know myself - sushi tray set
rice/soup bowls and spoons
1-2 saki sets (I have one set with 6 cups and would like to be able to have enough for 12)

I'm basically thinking that there will be certain rolls that will be cost-efficient for me to make at home and other rolls that I will need to leave to the professional. I still need to make some trips to a few good markets for some pricing and getting to know certain sections of the stores I wasn't exactly knee deep into before.

One video says that miso soup is used as a breakfast more often than not. I never would have thought of it as a breakfast thing. I may try that once I've gotten the hang of cooking it to see how long it might possibly sustain my appetite in the mornings.

Nice
