Idea - I ....Damn There It Went
Oct. 21st, 2009 11:05 pmSo, by fortunes of fate, I work at a plumbing company. We just moved into a new building. A new big building. The layout on this building, especially after we cut into some walls to provide walkways, is freakishly labyrinthine in nature. Seriously. It's easy to get yourself lost during the first tour, and there are easily four circles in the place (where you can walk around the walls and land back where you started.
I decided this place would make for a great paint ball fight. The walls need a little color.
But that's not the great idea I had.
I was reading
disgruntledgrrl's post with the mention of Hell Houses, and I remembered when I was younger, like late elementary or early junior high. A couple friends and I went to a church that was hosting a haunted maze. Luckily, they only offered us some flyers on our way out in return for our blood money required donation in order to participate. I thought it was going to be stupid, but was amazingly surprised how much I liked it. It was a maze made completely of cardboard boxes, and with the lights off it was completely pitch black in there. We crawled around through the boxes and found an area where you could stand up and go into another area of boxes on an upper level (just up a few stairs and into another area of the church, I discovered later on). It was so much fun trying to mentally map out the place.
So, plumbers, as would have it, have access to big boxes that previous carried water heaters or shiny new toilets. It would be way too late to plan for something like this now, but I think it would be so much fun to recreate a haunted maze for kids for next year. We could find some sort of charity to donate the money to while handing out our own promotional material for work - namely the creepy plumber doll that we give away for free to customers.
