I've decided that I seriously want to have this printed out and framed. This has got to be the best motivator I can possibly think of. Both guys are quite well-known and successful in their respective careers, really know how to dress the part, and REALLY know how to liven up a dead party (or deaden up a live party, as the case may be).

I am the most amazing Aunt Nikki.

I've started my nephews on a regime of classic movies. Tonight, the boys wanted to watch horror, and I was going to show them The Abominable Dr. Phibes. Unfortunately, they took too long getting the room set up and homework done and juice spilled and a minor temper tantrum, so we only had enough time for an episode or two of Tales of Tomorrow. It's the precursor to The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and others.

The best part about this dvd is that each episode still has it's original "sponsored by" commercials. Back then there were three commercials total: one at the beginning, one in the middle, and one at the end. The phrasing was still the same. "Act now." "Yours for ONLY $4.95." Watching them though is still a bit of a treat. The commercials for the first episode were all done by Kreisler watch bands. By the way, that vintage add today costs more than one of their gold or silver (black/white and gray is all I could tell for sure in the vid) watch bands with monogrammed initials in the commercial.

I'll have to show those particular commercials to dad, seeing as how he just jumped back on one of his old favorites of looking at exquisite watches and other time pieces. He had to call me twice in the previous couple weeks to make sure he won a couple of Ebay items. One was a pocket watch with matching knife set and the other was a beautiful Elgin, which of course has prompted him to start telling me all about classic watches whether I want to hear about them or not.
