Failed

I tried my hand at deviled eggs for the first time ever.

Note to self: I don't care what the recipe says. Never, EVER add vinegar to this recipe again.

It tasted marvelous until the catastrophic end.

I even added more hard boiled eggs, but the vinegar seemed like it just bathed in the added richness, rather than drowning in it.

EDIT: This also makes me sad as I really can't be bothered with boiling any more eggs, yet I was so much looking forward to eating a few.

EDIT2: My roommates are insane. They loved all loved the eggs. Next time I show them what GOOD deviled eggs should taste like. Curses. I can't even find my failures in the kitchen to be failtastic because I keep getting praises. :-/

There are times when I'm highly grateful for this.

Why?

Because "it" is a changing, fluctuating, seething mass.

- I used to be able to smoke on an airplane, well, if I had been old enough.
- Men used to carry around swords, and not wear modern shirts, but instead wear revealing togas.
- Women used to work the land just as hard as their husbands instead of putting on pompous airs and massive amounts of makeup in a club so as to nab the biggest catch.
- People used to have to know the names of streets and how to get from A to B on their own without a computer telling them how to properly get lost.
- Comics used to be read instead of watched.

- Women used to have to churn butter and labor over hand washing clothes.
- Children used to have to work along side their parents in the fields just to put food on the table.
- Writers used to have to dictate, or just become a popular playwright.
- Some folks had to walk up a hill for 5 miles in both directions through the rain, sleet, and snow just to deliver the mail (oh, wait, they still do that).

You make the world what you want to make of it. If you say that no more smoking in bars "is just the way it is" then it sounds like you are content with the situation. If you say that no more smoking in bars "sucks ass" then you are not content with it.

Live how you want to live. Decide how you want to change. Don't be afraid of making the choice to live the way you want just because outside elements may get in the way.

Walk down the street proud as a peacock and announce to the world that you accept every stranger as your neighbor. Because that's how you want to live, instead of how someone else told you to live, especially when that someone else is the evil imp in your own mind.

EDIT: No imps were harmed in the making of this post. Much.
