Thnxs Day

- corzican enjoys Thanksgiving dinner with my mom's family and was sad he had to miss it this year.
- I got in trouble with him for not bringing home some of my mom's pink salad.
- I brought home ambrosia salad instead because it's my favorite.
- Pink is not the new black. Neither is white, but the ambrosia salad is still my favorite of the two.
- disgruntledgrrl was very patiently tapping her toe while I finished making my breakfast and coffee. I think it's a damn good thing I went with instant oatmeal instead of homemade French toast.
- She would have killed me if I had been in the kitchen much longer than I was.
- I had two great dinners and got loads of compliments on my gravy.
- The gravy was the only thing I was allowed to make in the kitchen, because disgruntledgrrl and corzican already had everything planned and under control.
- Except for the gravy.
- It was my first attempt ever to make Thanksgiving Day gravy after watching mom do it for the past 3 decades.
- That's a secret that I didn't want to share with disgruntledgrrl until after everyone got to try it.
- She was still nervous about my gravy.
- I had gravy-in-a-packet-just-add-water just in case.
- For backup.
- Which luckily we didn't need.
- I also watched {most of} The Godfather for the first time.
- It's not bad, but I'm not a huge die-hard fan after watching it.
