24 Marathon
Sep. 2nd, 2008 12:05 pmI finished watching season 1 of 24. Found out that there are 5 more seasons already aired and that season 7 starts in possibly November. Sheesh.
I can't say that I'm a die-hard fan of the show, but at the same time it's not bad by any means. Once you get into it the show grows on you and you start praying that certain people get their comeuppance. I think that for me was the driving force - a train wreck curiosity factor that wanted to know (and crossed my fingers for) who would die next.
Anyone up for a 24-hour* marathon? I got at least 5 more that can be lined up.
*To be fair, each episode sans commercial breaks comes out to ~40-45 minutes. A great schedule would be 3 hours on, 1 hour off for food and sanity breaks, rinse and repeat. We could plan the meals:
0300-0400 early morning raid-the-kitchen sandwiches and ice cream with coffee/soda
0700-0800 homemade breakfast with bacon, eggs, toast, ham, and tater tots with coffee/soda on the side
0900-1000 (while show continues on) brunch with fresh fruit and bagels dipped in coffee/soda
1100-1200 lunch out via drive-thru somewhere while chomping on No-Doze
1500-1600 afternoon snack with veggies and pizza rolls and a couple shots of Jolt
1900-2000 dinner - meat, meat, and more meat along with ample amounts of coffee/soda/Jolt/No-Doze to counteract theterrorism threat against a meat coma
2215-2400 cap it off with a chocolate fondue made just before, and served during, the season finale and topped with much liqueurs and wine so that we can all sleep that night
Granted, this concept sounds fun no matter what show you're watching. LOTR trillogy, Star-Wars-fest, Pirates vs Indiana Jones day, BSG, LOST, you name it. That does remind me that I still need to host a Twin Peaks marathon, and if time permits play a couple of Lynch movies as well. I still need to purchase Lost Highway, Blue Velvet, and Eraserhead, and we already have Mulholland Dr., Inland Empire, and Dune.
