Jun. 15th, 2008 09:28 amThis is all the fault of Woot! and a quiet Sunday at work.
Genius G-Pen F350 3x5" USB Graphics Tablet w/Cordless Pen
Genius G-PEN F610 Ultra slim graphic tablet
IOGear Mobile Digital Scribe
(with Gizmodo info)
LiveScribe SmartPen
(not really interested in this for many easy to spot reasons, but I do like the built-in voice recorder and easy magnetic download station concepts)
I can totally envision my own perfect portable computer (for web browsing, and note taking). Take the slim graphics pad with SD card, built-in wireless, and a pullout flexible video screen. (Not to be confused with e-paper which apparently doesn't yet come in color and takes a bit longer to load an image.
Aww. A DYI whiteboard and laptop touch screen. Also, here's instructions for making an IR pen.
Now all we need are psi people to tell us the future combined with modern touch screens and laser-etched wooden balls and we've got Minority Report (I can't believe it's already been 6 years since that movie came out).
Wow - this would make an excellent idea for an executive desk.
Lastly, I leave you with this.
PS - I'm sooooo glad someone finally thought up tabs for browser windows. I have around 20 tabs open currently, and will most likely have more open here shortly. prrrrrr.
