Shit-Storm At Work
Dec. 15th, 2006 02:06 pmIf my boss doesn't completely hate me, then she should. It's her own fault, though. She's been having me keep the childcare accounts receivable report form the eyes of the exec while account balances having been soaring to god-awful heights. I have been busting my ass creating reports and statements for the parents, but not a singe child has been denied care and my job seems completely worthless.
It's been at least two months, if not three, since the exec last saw the report. I finally let the exec know a couple days ago that he should ask her why I haven't been getting it to him, especially since he told me point blank to make sure I get it to him each week. He finally got a copy of it yesterday and was about to blow a blood vessel. The boss talked through her ass, but it only gave her an extra ass-saving day before the real chewing was to commence.
The Business Manager (usually referred to as Queen Bitch) was brought in on this as well, as she is ultimately responsible for all of the A/R at the branch. She knew the whole story before anyone said a single word, and she knows the boss is lying through her teeth. The exec pulled me into his office with them and asked me specifically if I've been told not to do the report. "Not, exactly. I've been doing the report, but I've more or less been told not to let you see the report." I did tell him that, to her credit, my boss has been diligently calling on parents and having me call as well. I know it didn't really matter because he had already been informed by the Mgr that there are some kids in the program who haven't made a single payment since September and that there had already been numerous promises to pay already broken. I was excused.
My boss, when brought in to meet with them, could be heard yelling through the wall, "Fire me if you have to, but not once have I ever told her not to give you the report." At that point I walked to the other side of the building. I already knew the entire conversation before it ever even started and I didn't feel like actually having to listen to it.
They're done with the meeting now, and she's royally pissed. Perhaps she's pissed at me, perhaps the Mgr. But it's her own damned fault and she really should just suck it up. She still says, even to me, "He thinks I've been hiding it from him, but I haven't. It's not my fault that he hasn't asked for it." Um, BULLSHIT! She's taken it out of his in-box after I've put it in there, told me not to let him see it or to not give him a copy, put other papers on top of my copy that sits on my desk just in case he walks by; the list goes on and on.
