Did I mention that the cd changer was broken? I was giving my roomies a demonstration of this fact just the day before while we were hanging out. They were worried that they jinxed me for talking about the cd changer. Doesn't really matter for the thief because they left the IR receiver behind, which is required to operate the thing.
My roomies were taunting me with pretties while we were out Sunday. We went to a couple comic book places and I oogled the games and dice. I couldn't buy anything though, and that's where the taunting came in.
Why the taunting? I managed to leave my debit card at a bar again. I left it the Friday before Halloween. I remember closing the tab and signing the bar's copy of the credit card slip, but the bartender never gave me back my card or my copy of the receipt. The $1 I had in my wallet was used for snacks at work last week, and I had been too lazy to go by the bank and get some cash. So, as
koed mentioned, that was the best time to have me looking around at dice - sans money. I calculated that $80 worth of dice would have been going home with me if I had the means to purchase. At least three games would also have been tagging along for the ride home.
disgruntledgrrl and
koed were kind enough to drive me out to Dallas to MINC to retrieve my credit card. Their website says they open at 6pm on Mondays. It lies. They weren't open. The site mentions Monday nights are back for football, so
disgruntledgrrl is guessing that the bad Cowboys season tanked the club night. It also mentions Tuesday art shows, but those are bi-weekly. My luck, this is an off week, or they discontinued that as well. Although it also says Bitchy Bingo is the first Tuesday of every month. Hmmm...tempting. If only someone from the club would call me back so I can verify their openings before driving all the way out there again.
Hopefully A-1 will make it out today to replace my broken window. I was forced to thoroughly enjoy the amazing weather we are having today by driving around with my windowrolled down missing. My habit of trying to roll up the window after going through the fast food drive-thru caused a bad noise from the window mechanism. Oops. My habit of locking the door after getting out of the car is also just as futile.
I really hope the thief is stupid enough to try and come back to get the part that he needs to make the cd changer work.
EDIT before I've even posted: I just got the call. They will not be able to make it out until tomorrow because of an additional part that has to be ordered.
