It's a trick of the mind
Jul. 20th, 2006 11:55 amMy nephew turned 4 yesterday and we had a little family birthday party for him. The poor guy, unfortunately, woke up yesterday with a temperature and was clingy as ever from the moment I walked in the door. He got his first real bike with training wheels and little gadgets and "engines" all over it. He also got some stickers and Hot Wheels. However, Aunt Nikki is planning a sneak attack on his Willie Wonka and Pirates of the Caribbean dvds. I think it was a Johnny Depp-themed torture device secretly planned just for me in the guise of a b-day party. My nephew politely informed me that I can't steal them, but I can come over and watch them any time.
The other nephew was having fun crawling off the step into the living room and rolling over a sea of balloons. It was so fun to watch him playing with them. He kept trying to pick one up and ultimately would crawl to it only to have it fling across the room when he tried to sit upright. Rinse and repeat.
Tonight, I relax. A little icon-making love, hopefully. A little PC gaming. And sleep.
